Session FAQ

Newborn, Family, Maternity, Couples

I aim to capture honest photos of your family and children. The goal is to capture the true essence of your family through candid fun images. I take a documentary approach to photography and use my understanding of my equipment and natural light to create images that you hopefully will love. We do several poses with those "looking at the camera" shots but really focus more on the candid photos that show the true connection of your family! I find that these are the favourite images of most of my families!

When do you book your sessions?

The time of day your session takes place has a huge impact.

For lifestyle newborn sessions, I like mid-morning as I'm using natural light in your home.

For outdoor sessions, I recommend we shoot approximately 2 hours before sunset, as it provides the softest, most beautiful and flattering light. The light is typically too harsh midday and casts shadows on faces, making people squint and it's not flattering at all.

I am flexible for sessions weekday evenings or Saturdays. My only day "off" is Sundays, which I like to spend with my kids and recharging before the busy week begins.

Where do your outdoor sessions take place?

Any location within Calgary city limits is on the table! I like to use Baker park, Confederation park and Bowness park in the NW and am most familiar with those locations.

I do often get asked for mountain sessions. Due to the additional license needed for Canmore sessions ($75/day) and travel time and expense, these sessions can be booked for an additional $225 fee.

When and how are images delivered?

It typically takes me 2 weeks to cull and edit a gallery, so I have a 3 week turnaround time posted in my contract to give me buffer room. Images are delivered via an online gallery where you can also order prints.

What are you doing to protect everyone from COVID?

I am vaccinated, and wear a mask for my indoor sessions. I require clients to sign a COVID waiver and questionnaire prior to the session to keep me, my family and yours safe.
